2017 Christmas Lights
This is my first attempt near-whole-house projection.
My first shelter lasted 3 days before we had wind gusts near 45mph that blew it apart and left my equipment in a pile of rubble. Fortunately the electronics survived, but it would be another week before I could build a second shelter. With temps falling and Christmas less than two weeks away, I was able to get a more solid shelter built.
While I expect the new shelter to survive all common weather patterns we see, it sits low enough to the ground that a mere 4 inches of snow picks up some light. For next season, I'll get it higher up, and farther back to cover the whole house.
Consider this a proof of concept.
I've been thinking about doing this since I first saw the Celebrate the Light at White's Chapel video, but it would be several years before everything fell into place.
Thanks to Bates Haunt for the inspiration to do this. Bates Haunt
